Leeds United: Julian Warren apologises to Crysencio Summerville as he’s slammed v Swansea City
Julian Warren apologised to Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville after appearing to curse him for his early “stinker” against Swansea City.
Sky Sports host Warren and pundit Gary Rowett talked highly of Summerville – plus team-mate Patrick Bamford – before the game.
However, Summerville’s first involvement in South Wales was to send a free-kick well off target, much to the amusement of the pair.
“The only thing I’d say is that Summerville clearly hasn’t listened to us eulogising about him because he’s sent a free-kick 40 yards over the bar. It’s nowhere near,” Rowett said on Sky Sports News [13 February, 19:53].
Warren added: “We talked about Patrick Bamford and he got injured in the warm-up; we bigged up Crysencio Summerville and he’s had a stinker so far – sorry to them both.”
Crysencio Summerville continues impressive form
Summerville’s evening may not have got off to the best of starts, but he soon made amends by scoring for Leeds just a few minutes after these comments.
After seemingly finding his range from the wayward free-kick, he was then able to guide one in to open the scoring for United at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Dutchman has been in scintillating form for the Whites this season and shows no sign of slowing down. He is not afraid to take on efforts others would otherwise be afraid to, and more times than not that pays off.
As for Bamford, let’s just hope the issue that forced him out of the starting line-up against Swansea is nothing serious. Like Summerville, he has also been an important player for Leeds of late.
The fact that Joel Piroe – also on the scoresheet against his former side – could instead lead the line just tells you all you need to know about the quality of this Leeds squad.
