Swansea City manager makes honest Leeds United admission after late defeat

Luke Williams labelled Leeds United the “best side” in the Championship after they beat his Swansea City team on Sunday.

It was a dramatic game between the two sides which ended 4-3 to the Whites as their 91st-minute winner cancelled out the Swans’ 90th-minute equaliser.

The three points allowed Daniel Farke’s side to take their place at the top of the table whilst are 14th.

The Swans gaffer was eager to get too disheartened by the result, though, as he admitted Leeds were the ones to watch as he told Swansea’s official club media [25 November]: “We scored three good goals against the best side in the division.”

Premier League return on for Leeds United

It’s incredibly tight at the top of the Championship and even though Leeds occupy the top spot, they are level on points with Sunderland and Sheffield United, showing that this will not be an easy title for any side to win.

However, to win a game in the way that the Whites did yesterday has to provide a lot of optimism for Farke as it suggests his side will never stop pushing until the final whistle throughout this campaign.

The Swans are yet to face Sunderland this year but they have already come up against Sheffield United in a game they lost 1-0.

However, Williams is adamant that the West Yorkshire club are the ones with the extra quality to put them above the rest.

One thing is for sure, Farke and his men cannot rest on their laurels this year. It has been an excellent start but the standard is high and this is another Championship race that could go down to the wire.
