Supercomputer predicts final Championship table with Leeds United promotion chance revealed

Leeds United are predicted to win the Championship with a 68.56 per cent chance of achieving promotion back to the Premier League.

Under the stewardship of Daniel Farke, the Whites have had an impressive campaign so far, sitting just two points behind the current league-leading duo of Sunderland and Sheffield United.

However, according to the Opta Supercomputer (19 November), Leeds United have a 42.08 per cent chance of winning the title with a 68.56 per cent chance of achieving promotion through other means.

Should the table prove accurate, it would see the Whites promoted in first place with Sheffield United taking the other automatic promotion spot.

Current league leaders Sunderland would finish the season in fourth.

Leeds United will be challenging for the Championship title

Despite being third, Leeds are perhaps the team that have caught the eye the most in the Championship and they remain favourites to win the league.

Sitting just two points from the top, the Whites have had an impressive campaign albeit with a handful of results that haven’t gone their way.

Given the significant amount of quality in the squad, it comes as little surprise to see Farke’s side predicted to top the division but with 31 games still to be played, Leeds can not afford to rest on their laurels.

As has been proven on several occasions, the Championship can throw up plenty of surprises with almost every team capable of beating anyone on their day.

Leeds have dropped points to Bristol City while Sunderland have failed to beat the likes of QPR and Preston. A supercomputer will not take things like that into account.

With that said, Leeds have every chance of tasting successes this campaign and January may prove to have a influential factor in whether or not they can achieve in what is likely to be a busy month in terms of transfer movement.
