Supercomputer makes new Leeds United relegation prediction

Leeds United are now predicted to be relegated from the Premier League, as per the numbers crunched by FiveThirtyEight’s supercomputer.

Leeds lost 4-1 away at Bournemouth on Sunday (30 April), meaning they failed to pull away from the relegation zone ahead of Leicester versus Everton at the King Power Stadium on Monday (1 May).

FiveThirtyEight’s algorithm says there’s now a 57 per cent chance that Leeds go down with an 18th-placed finish predicted.

Everton

Southampton (98%) and Everton (66%) are also predicted to go down with the Yorkshire giants.

Gracia out?

Leeds have already rolled the dice on their manager by sacking Jesse Marsch in February.

After a failed search for a new manager, because they made a decision they weren’t prepared for, they stumbled upon Gracia as their fifth or sixth choice.

Gracia has done nothing but frustrate fans with his failure to play Wilfried Gnonto, who was easily our best player at Bournemouth on Sunday, and his in-game struggles.

Leeds fans are having to tell the Spaniard he has substitutions to make.

While we feel he’s kind of been thrown under the boss by the messy search for a new manager and the mismatched squad he’d been given, he’s not doing himself any favours.

Ultimately, this is on Victor Orta.

He sacked Marcelo Bielsa, made a poor hire in Marsch, allowed Marsch to have too much say in recruitment and then sacked Marsch just after he signed Georginio Rutter for a club-record fee.

Heads need to roll for this.
