Super Computer predicts Leeds United relegation chances after Michael Skubala announcement
Leeds United are being tipped to avoid relegation even after their announcement that Michael Skubala will remain in charge for the upcoming fixtures.
The Whites sacked Jesse Marsch last week (6 February) and have seen their hunt for a new manager hit a brick wall after talks for Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola, Carlos Corberan and Alfred Schreuder all came to nothing.
The club are adamant they won’t appoint the wrong man for the role and have now announced that caretaker boss Skubala will remain in charge for upcoming games against Everton and Southampton at least, but according to FiveThirtyEight they should still avoid relegation.

The super computer ran the numbers and Leeds have been tipped to finish in 16th place in the Premier League with 38 points from their 38 games, meaning they have a 24% chance of survival currently.
That would see them finish four points above the drop zone with Everton, Bournemouth and Southampton expected to fall into the Championship with 34, 32 and 30 points respectively.
Tough
Leeds have got far more quality and strength in depth in their squad compared to a lot of their rivals at the bottom of the league, but the team haven’t won a game in a long time.
Until we’re able to string results together there is no doubt that we’re in a battle against relegation, but we have got plenty of chances to move away as it stands.

The decision to keep Skubala in charge for these two crunch games against other relegation rivals has got some fans wondering if he has enough about him to keep the team away, but the performances against Manchester United in consecutive games were encouraging.
Wins in those games could not only kickstart the necessary momentum, but it would also put a gap between us and the teams below us in the table and greatly improve our chances of survival.
It’s a really brave call from the board, but they’re trusting their staff to do the job properly and the numbers suggest it will work out.
