Super Computer predicts Leeds United final Premier League position

Leeds United are predicted to retain their Premier League status despite losing 7-0 against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

That loss took a massive hit on the Whites’ goal difference which is now -15.

Only the bottom two sides, Norwich and Newcastle have a worse goal difference than them, which is a tricky situation to be in.

Leeds currently sit in 16th place and FiveThirtyEight have crunched the numbers on their Super Computer to predict that they’ll finish exactly where they are.

They’re expected to stay up with 41 points and have been given an impressive 82 per cent chance of avoiding the drop.

Good enough

This season wasn’t going to be as good as last and every Leeds fan knew it from the outset.

The sort of investment that was done in the previous summer to ensure that the Whites stay up, meant that it was going to be all the more difficult to spend big the following year.

While there were two first-team regulars who were signed, none have quite had the impact as some of last season’s signings.

Leeds United

Dan James, who has been tracked by Marcelo Bielsa for a while, was signed, despite his recent failures at Manchester United.

As many expected, he’s failed to hit the ground running and the same can be said about Junior Firpo as well.

If the Whites are to seriously push for a top-half finish, they need a couple of new signings in January.
