Super Computer makes Leeds United relegation prediction after Everton and Nottingham Forest wins in last 24 hours

Leeds United now stand a 71% chance of being relegated from the Premier League after victories for Nottingham Forest and Everton on Monday (8 May), according to Five-Thirty-Eight and their Super Computer.

Despite not playing, Sam Allardyce’s side were dealt a double blow as the Toffees picked up a remarkable 5-1 win over Brighton and Nottingham Forest defeated Southampton 4-3.

The Super Computer has increased Leeds United’s chances of relegation from 61% up to 71% following these pairs of wins.

It predicts that the Whites will pick up three points from their final three games of the season, which will leave them in 19th position in the Premier League.

Southampton and Leicester City are the other two sides who are expected to fall into the Championship at the end of the season.

Oh dear

Although Leeds United didn’t even play a match, their chances of survival have just got that bit harder.

The results simply couldn’t have gone much worse for Leeds United on Monday (8 May) – apart from Leicester City getting thrashed – and they now face an uphill struggle to remain in the Premier League this season.

The clash against Newcastle United at Elland Road this weekend looks like a win or bust for Allardyce and his men, given the updates on Monday and the 71% chance of relegation doesn’t make pretty reading whatsoever.

The Whites are probably going to need at least four or five points from their remaining three fixtures now, and on the evidence of the Manchester City clash, in which they could have lost by five or six goals, this looks a tough ask.

Allardyce has built his managerial reputation on ensuring teams stave off relegation, but this could be one of his toughest tasks yet.
