Super Computer makes Leeds United relegation prediction after Aston Villa draw

Leeds United are predicted to retain their Premier League status despite dropping points against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

The Whites took an early lead before facing a 3-1 scoreline and nicked a goal ahead of the half-time whistle to go into the break with a one-goal deficit.

They came out all guns blazing in the second half and equalised, but failed to score the winning goal despite Villa being down to ten men.

After the game, FiveThirtyEight’s Super Computer crunched the numbers and predicted that the Whites will finish 14th.

40 points are the mark that every team targets and they’re expected to end up with 41.

Brentford, Everton and Newcastle have all been predicted to finish below them and narrowly survive the drop.

Will take that

The most ardent of Leeds fans knew that finishing in the top half again was going to be a challenge.

Given their recruitment in the summer and lack of it in January, it became nigh on impossible to get there.

There have also been a number of injuries, but despite that, the club just don’t think it’s wise to add bodies to the side.

Letting Cody Drameh leave on loan and not replace him makes very little sense.

Marcelo Bielsa is tactically strong and a good motivator to keep this side up but they cannot afford to keep playing so close to the edge every time.

Hopefully, the 49ers’ investment could see them free up more funds to strengthen the first team and convince the Argentine to stay.
