Summerville suffers season-ending injury blow - Leeds United early team news v Manchester City

Jesse Marsch has confirmed that Crysenscio Summerville will miss the rest of the season after the Leeds United winger suffered an ankle injury in training.

Speaking to the media today [28 April], Marsch admitted that it’s a blow to lose Summerville, 20, for the remaining four Premier League games.

The Duch attacker wasn’t in the squad at Crystal Palace on Monday and that was due to this season-ending setback.

“Crysensio Summerville picked up an injury in the last training before the Palace match. He’s twisted his ankle and will be done for the season, unfortunately,” said Marsch, as shown via Leeds’ official Twitter account.

Marsch added that three other players will also miss the game.

“Disappointing and then Adam [Forshaw] is moving forward, but still some time for him. Patrick [Bamford] is making progress and is hopeful later in the season,” he added.

“Tyler [Roberts] is making good progress. Everyone else is fully healthy.”

Tough run begins

We have to admit that we’re not expecting anything out of this match.

Leeds are at home and they do have a battle to avoid relegation to play for. But Manchester City have just been so good lately.

If any Leeds fan watched them on Tuesday night in their 4-3 win against Real Madrid, you’ll know why we’re so worried about this game.

Pep Guardiola’s side could have easily scored six or seven goals if they were more potent in front of goal.

If they can do that against a defence boasting David Alaba, Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal. What can they do against a defence that features Liam Cooper?

We don’t mean any disrespect towards Cooper with that, it’s just that Man City dismantled a top defence time and time again on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

Leeds will do well to stop this one from being a cricket score.

If they get anything from the game, that will be a massive, massive plus ahead of a tough couple of weeks in the bid to survive against the drop.
