Stuart Webber to quit Norwich in next two weeks with Leeds United job link

Stuart Webber is set to leave Norwich City in the next two weeks amid links to Leeds United, according to Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (29 October) that the Canaries’ director of football handed in his notice in June but could have stayed at Carrow Road until the end of the year.

Nixon said the handover of power is now “complete”, meaning the Welshman can go early after being linked with “several posts”, including a position at Elland Road.

Knows Farke

It would typically be quite unusual for managers to be involved in these kind of decisions, but you would expect Farke to have an input on the potential appointment of Webber after working with him at Norwich.

The pair were at Carrow Road together for four years before the Leeds boss was sacked in 2021 after securing two promotions to the Premier League.

They clearly know how each other work and you would think they still have a strong relationship if the Whites are considering bringing Webber to Elland Road.

49ers Enterprises is currently looking to add to the numbers behind the scenes in West Yorkshire after seemingly being surprised at how little staff there was doing a number of jobs.

This would be another big appointment from the new owners as they look to improve matters off the field in a bid to ensure the club is better placed if they make their way back up to the Premier League.
