Stuart Dallas reveals ‘strange’ thing Leeds squad haven’t done in weeks
Stuart Dallas has revealed that the Leeds United squad haven’t kicked a ball in a number of weeks during the lockdown.
The Leeds squad have still had to send a picture of their weight every single day as well as complete extensive exercise routines at home.
Players were sent equipment by the club including exercise bikes, although some have been pictured using facilities at Thorp Arch.
Dallas claimed that although they aren’t the only squad in this position, it is still a strange moment for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
“Being away from the training ground and going from being with the boys every day to not seeing them, that in itself is a challenge,” he told the official club website.
“We haven’t kicked a ball now for a number of weeks, so it is strange, but we’re not the only ones in this position.”
Barry Douglas has released footage of him taking free-kicks at Thorp Arch, but apart from that, not many have been seen with a matchday ball available to them.
This pandemic was very much unexpected, and it is something that may only happen once in a lifetime, similar to the opportunity this Leeds squad has to get back to the Premier League.
The EFL has suggested that training could be reintroduced as early as mid-May, something which could start the countdown for the season to finish behind closed doors around June.
