Stuart Dallas returns to Leeds United training – Phil Hay

Stuart Dallas finally returned to Leeds United training on Thursday 21 September, as shared by Phil Hay.

The Athletic journalist shared the “major” news after the Northern Irishman got back on the grass at Thorp Arch after 18 months out of action with a broken femur.

Despite the positive step, it is said that Dallas is still a number of weeks away from returning to first-team action under Daniel Farke, although this is great news.

He wrote: “Stuart Dallas returned to training with the full Leeds United squad today.

“Still a number of weeks away from being in contention to play having broken a femur almost 18 months ago. But a major and positive step forward.”

Wow.

This is excellent news for everybody involved with the club.

None more so than Dallas himself, who will have been itching to get back into the action from the very day that he knew that it would be a very long absence.

Farke will also be delighted, especially given how popular Dallas is with the squad, he will only be a positive factor around Thorp Arch, even if he isn’t ready to play yet.

What works in his favour is that there are many international breaks coming up, one each in October and November, so with Championship fixtures also coming thick and fast, it won’t be long until he is back.

Leeds will often play two games each week, and the timely return of Dallas and his ability to play at left-back, as well as in midfield will be welcomed with open arms.

Rotation is key and with Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo also on the verge of coming back, the squad will be looking even better than it already does very soon.
