Stuart Dallas responds to Karl Darlow after ‘huge’ Leeds United message
Leeds United took one step closer to returning to the Premier League on Saturday with a 2-1 win against Preston North End.
It was a frantic opening 20 minutes at Elland Road, with all of the goals taking place within that period.
Manor Solomon gave the Yorkshire giants a perfect start by finding the back of the net in the fourth minute, but the visitors responded two minutes later through Kaine Kesler-Hayden.
The fast-paced start to the game continued when Jayden Bogle scored what turned out to be the final goal of the game to take all three points, picking up consecutive results.

Karl Darlow celebrates the result
Leeds winning kept them top of the table in what is proving to be an exceptionally tight race to earn promotion between them, Burnley, and Sheffield United.
The Yorkshire giants are currently ahead of Burnley, but that is only by goal difference, while both teams sit five points above the Blades, who appear to have collapsed.
Karl Darlow retained his place in the starting lineup against Preston, marking the third game in a row that he has started, with Daniel Farke having dropped Illan Meslier after his string of errors this season.
Match Stats | Darlow |
Saves | 1 |
Accurate Passes | 20/31 (65%) |
Throws | 4 |
Touches | 39 |
He has rewarded Farke’s faith by only conceding once in his previous two games, and he took to Instagram to celebrate the win by saying, “Huge win. That Elland Road noise.”
Stuart Dallas responded by saying: “Outstanding,” while former Wales international Robert Earnshaw posted several emojis to show his support.
Leeds United still have a lot to do
The victory against Preston was a significant one, especially when coupled with Sheffield United losing as it provided some breathing room in regards to the hunt for automatic promotion.
The Whites are looking to do everything in their power to avoid having to go through the playoffs after being defeated in the final last season by Southampton.
However, Leeds will not want to rely upon the gap that they have created for themselves, especially with how tight things are between them and Burnley.
Leeds have four huge tests left before the season ends, and full focus will be required for all of those games if they want to guarantee promotion.
