Stuart Dallas recent comments may not mean Leeds United return close – Injury Expert

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Stuart Dallas’ recent comments on making a return to football may not mean Leeds United can expect him back soon, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert reacted to the Northern Ireland international’s comments where he hinted at being ready after spending over a year on the sidelines.

The 32-year-old told ITV News at the end of March that he’s targeting a return soon despite being frustrated with the lack of progress each day for the past few months.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Dallas, “It sounds like he has been progressing well but it’s hard to say whether it’s wishful thinking or not because it depends on how he’s testing and responding to physio.

“It’s good news that he thinks he could be back and that may be informed by the physios, but that’s not always a reliable indicator.”

The versatile Leeds midfielder has been missing in action since he broke his leg against Manchester City last season which ended his season and perhaps the following one as well.

At 32, he still appears to have the desire to represent both club and country and Leeds will undoubtedly be cautious when he’s back to full fitness and will perhaps ease him back into the squad.

In other Leeds United, a Whites player was reduced to tears after what happened this week while he’s also on the cusp of sealing a permanent Elland Road exit.
