Steven Gerrard to Leeds United verdict shared by Sky Sports pundit, he’d be ‘fantastic fit’
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson believes Steven Gerrard would be a “fantastic fit” at Leeds United if he was appointed as the club’s new manager.
The Telegraph reported on 2 June that Leeds had shortlisted the 43-year-old along with Scott Parker and Carlos Corberan.
Robinson believes Gerrard’s “meticulous” attention to detail would make him a good fit at Elland Road.

“You look at what Steven did at Rangers – okay it didn’t quite work at Aston Villa – for whatever reason. But he and Scott Parker and two young managers, I’ve played with both of them. Two excellent leaders on the field, Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“I like the way that Gerrard got his team playing at Rangers – his man-management. Another thing is the excellent network of connections. You come out of the game and you have friends and you pick up the phone to people.

“I’d like Gerrard to take the job. Having played with him and knowing him as a person. I’ve seen what he’s done at Rangers. But knowing the attention to detail and meticulous angles that he takes. He’s a football man and he would get the club.
“I think there would be a few Leeds fans who wouldn’t want him but I think if there’s anyone who can bring the fans and the club together – it’s him.
“The stadium will be full capacity every single game. Some may not get quite as long as others but the manager will get support. I think that Gerrard would be a fantastic fit.”
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have already turned down a £10million offer for one player.
