Steve McManaman rages at ridiculous Leeds United player in draw vs Chelsea

Jaka Bijol will surely breathe a sigh of relief after Leeds United came back to secure a draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Liam Rosenior couldn’t get the better of Daniel Farke on 10 February despite the Blues taking a two-goal lead against the Whites.

Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer gave the hosts a significant advantage, but the Whites mounted a comeback in the last 30 minutes of the 2-2 draw.

Jyaden Bogle was immense at Stamford Bridge, winning the penalty and being pivotal in the build-up to the West Yorkshire outfit’s second goal, as the German manager continues to maintain a distance from the relegation zone.

Jaka Bijol baffles after foul in Leeds United draw vs Chelsea

Jaka Bijol pushed Joao Pedro inside the Leeds box to concede a penalty against Chelsea.

With the scoreline 1-0 at that point, the Slovenia international seemed to have a lapse in judgment and conceded an obvious spot kick.

Steve McManaman couldn’t believe what he saw from the 27-year-old centre-back after what can only be considered a “ridiculous” foul on the Brazilian striker.

Speaking on TNT Sports 4 on 10 February, McManaman said, “Ridiculous. He can’t be arguing with the referee whether it was a penalty or not. What’s he doing? What a gift. It’s absolutely maddening if you’re Farke, if you’re the other 10 Leeds players.”

Bijol returned to Farke’s starting lineup but may have likely cost the West Yorkshire outfit a couple of points with his silly defending.

Sebastiaan Bornauw also didn’t have the best of games, but as soon as James Justin switched to a more central role and Bogle went to right-wing-back, the Peacocks looked more threatening.

Elland Road delight after what’s happened elsewhere in Premier League

Leeds are favourites to avoid Premier League relegation at this stage, but there’s still a long way to go in the season.

West Ham United have seen a bit of resurgence in recent weeks as they look to climb out of 18th in the table.

The Hammers were winning 1-0 against Manchester United at the London Stadium on 10 February before Benjamin Sesko’s stoppage-time equaliser broke hearts in E20.

The Whites remain six points above the relegation zone and return to league action on 21 February against Aston Villa away from Elland Road.
