Stan Collymore slams Leeds United fans and Marcelo Bielsa

Stan Collymore believes that Leeds United supporters will treat Jesse Marsch unfairly as they’re still not over the Marcelo Bielsa era.

He believes that if the Argentine was in charge, they would definitely go down and even deemed the performances as ‘rubbish’.

Per the former Premier League player, Bielsa is responsible for almost all of the mess Leeds currently find themselves in.

He wrote in the Mirror, “You did it [not raise questions about Bielsa] because with Bielsa still at the helm you were definitely going down and at least Marsch has come in and given your club a fighting chance of staying up, even if ultimately he fails.

“The idea that, ‘This isn’t for us, this is rubbish’, is laughable because it was properly rubbish when Leeds were losing by threes and fours under Bielsa and had the worst goal difference in the league.

“He did 95 per cent of the damage in that time by not going into games with a system of play which could give his side a chance to get enough points on the board and keep goal difference at a level that, in the squeaky bum time of the season, would mean they could still be competitive.”

Ridiculous

Even when Bielsa was in charge, a number of fans kept voicing their concerns about the style of play.

Leeds were often left open at the back and were conceding goals to team far inferior than they were.

However, this team goes through lows every season and then bounces back because of Bielsa.

He was also terribly unlucky with the number of injuries in the squad and it’s not entirely fair to blame him for that.

Marsch was brought in to keep Leeds in the Premier League and currently, he is not managing to do so.

If the club were to get sacked, then the fans at least would want to go down playing the Bielsa way and not how the American has got them playing.
