Stan Collymore predicts Leeds United showdown v Norwich City
Stan Collymore has backed Leeds United to return to winning ways when they take on Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side goes into the game in the Premier League’s relegation zone after Burnley beat Brentford on Saturday.
Norwich are rock bottom as it stands with no wins and just two points from their first nine league fixtures.
And according to Collymore, more misery will be piled upon the East Anglian outfit this weekend.
“I’m backing Leeds to finally plot some kind of an escape route from their recent malaise,” said Collymore in the print edition of the People [October 31, page 56].
We’ll take it
It doesn’t matter how we win this weekend, we just need to beat Norwich.
While Bielsa has numerous injury issues to contend with as Patrick Bamford is set to miss out on another game, Leeds’ squad should be good enough to beat a Norwich side that is absolutely hopeless.
You have to wonder about Norwich and how they keep winning promotion when other teams have come up with them in recent years and started to establish themselves in the Premier League.
Brentford came up with them last season after finishing below them in the Championship but the difference in the two clubs is staggering.
This isn’t meant to be disrespectful to Norwich and question their place in the Premier League but Leeds really should be beating them.
If we don’t, relegation will start to become less of a fear and potentially something that the club will have to seriously start thinking is possible.
In other Leeds United news, another Leeds star has been ruled out of the clash at Carrow Road.
