Spotted: What Paraag Marathe did at full-time whistle in Leeds United win v Leicester City
Paraag Marathe was spotted saluting the players at full-time after Leeds United claimed a huge 1-0 win over Leicester on Friday night.
The Whites claimed a major 1-0 win thanks to Georginio Rutter’s goal in the second half, with Illan Meslier making a remarkable save late on to deny the home side any points from the game.
And after the whistle went, the Yorkshire Evening Post (4 November) have shared what happened in the stadium as Daniel Farke’s side celebrated including what the 49ers’ Marathe did.

“Ampadu racing straight to Meslier at the full-time whistle, recognising the goalkeeper’s vital late intervention,” they wrote.
“Rutter throwing his arms around Gnonto and then joining the huddle with Meslier in the penalty area. Leeds players amassing in front of the delighted away end, Rutter leading the celebrations as always.
“Farke building up the noise before his customary wave. Rodon saluting the applauding directors and Eddie Gray. Paraag Marathe raising a fist in celebration as Meslier came off the pitch.”
Brilliant
Since the 49ers took over from Andre Radrizzani in the summer, there has been a feel-good factor about everything Leeds have done.
Their business in the transfer market was excellent, they took their time to hire a new manager and have seemingly got that spot on, and we’re performing brilliantly on the pitch too.

That was all summed up against Leicester, who had won 13 out of 14 games in the Championship before Friday night but we limited them to very few chances and ultimately deserved the win on the road.
Marathe is the face of the 49ers Enterprises and making himself seen and heard at away games is a great thing, because it shows his interest in the club and team and the fans want whoever is running the club to actually care.
He’s clearly bought into the Leeds life, and we’re delighted to have him as part of the club on a more full-time basis than previously. It’s only upwards from here.
