Spotted: Luke Ayling and Jamie Shackleton back in Leeds United training for Peterborough FA Cup clash
Leeds United have been handed a boost ahead of their FA Cup clash with Peterborough with Luke Ayling and Jamie Shackleton spotted back in training.
The Whites were at risk of being short at full-back having sent Djed Spence back to Tottenham following a confrontation with manager Daniel Farke following the win over Birmingham.
But the boss is set to get a boost with Ayling and Shackleton returning from injury, meaning the injury absence of Sam Byram may not be such a big blow after all.
Phew
With Spence being sent back to north London, there were some big question marks about who was going to play at full-back on Sunday afternoon.
Junior Firpo’s injury record is questionable although he is available now, while Archie Gray is in desperate need of a rest at right-back but they may have been forced to play with the injuries the team have.
But with Ayling and Shackleton now fit, training and available ahead of the game both players could conceivable come back into the team after a period out and allow for Farke to let the others rest.

Ayling’s future is a hot topic right now with Middlesbrough said to be showing an interest in him, but while he’s under contract at Elland Road nobody would doubt that he will be doing all he can and giving 100% to help the team win.
As for Shackleton he is a midfielder by nature but his performances from full-back have been good this season and made him important to Farke, so this could be another chance for him to impress.
In other Leeds news, Farke confirms Whites player “not part of my plans”.
