Spotted: Images show Marcelo Bielsa bid farewell to Leeds United fans at Thorp Arch
Marcelo Bielsa has been pictured saying goodbye to Leeds United fans who waited to see him leave Thorp Arch on Sunday.
The 66-year-old was sacked on Sunday morning [27 February] in the wake of a 4-0 defeat against Tottenham at Elland Road.
Bielsa’s departure is an emotional one due to all the good he’s done at Leeds and it’s clear to see from the images and videos below from Twitter how much he meant to Leeds – and how much the club meant to him.
Who’s cutting onions?
This is heartbreaking, isn’t it?
Bielsa has more than likely been at Thorp Arch all day saying his goodbyes to the players, staff and his bosses and now he’s actually left the training ground, he’s greeted by fans.
One fan says he waited outside the training ground for seven hours, which just goes to show the dedication that Leeds United supporters have for their club – and this manager.
Bielsa’s time at Elland Road has been extraordinary.

Right now, we’re in a mess and we’re going to be focussing on the negatives but one day will come in the future when the Argentine will only be remembered for the good things.
He played non-stop, exciting football, took us to the play-offs, he signed talented players, he took us back to the Premier League and secured a ninth-placed finish.
Bielsa has written himself into Leeds United’s great history and we’ll be more than happy to see some sort of tribute to him at Elland Road.
He should get the freedom of the city, a statue at every corner of the stadium and a stand named after him for all he’s done for this football club.
Good luck, Marcelo. Marching on together.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have verbally agreed a deal to hire their next manager.
