Spanish journalist claims club set to sign young Leeds striker who played for Bielsa in FA Cup

Spanish journalist Angel Garcia Alvarez has claimed that Seguand Division B side Club Lleida Esportiu is going to sign young Leeds striker, Kun Temenuzhkov.

Temenuzhkov signed for Leeds from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 and has made one senior appearance – an 11-minute cameo in the 2-1 FA Cup defeat to QPR last year.

Alvarez said, “I am told that Lleida Esportiu is going to sign Leeds United reserve player Kun Temenuzhkov.”

The striker crisis at Leeds has intensified over the past few weeks.

Since Eddie Nketiah was recalled, Marcelo Bielsa has had no striker on the bench to provide back-up to Patrick Bamford.

Ryan Edmondson is the player who’s scoring for the Under-23s this season – he’s got eight this season for Carlos Corberan’s side.

Edmondson is obviously not considered ready for the first team – Bielsa has made that clear by naming a bench with no striker on.

That means Temenuzhkov is even further off and after impressing with the Under-23s last season, he’s faded from view there, too.

He hasn’t been in the Under-23 side for a while now and given that, a move would make sense, although there’s no indication whether this would be a loan or a permanent move for the 19-year-old.
