Southampton willing to listen to offers for Leeds United target Che Adams
Southampton are reportedly open to listening to offers for striker and Leeds United target Che Adams this summer.
According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, the Scotland international has previously been on the Whites’ radar as they look to rekindle their interest this summer.
It is not detailed whether or not Leeds can match what the Saints want for the 26-year-old but they’re waiting at the phone for an initial offer to be made.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, “I was told they want to bring in a centre forward and I’ve been told that Southampton could be willing to listen to offers for Che Adams, who’s been on their list before.
“Whether they would meet the asking price I don’t know, but maybe that’s one to keep an eye on.”
Time to low ball?
Leeds can test the waters and submit an initial bid that’s way short of what Southampton are expecting for Adams.
This will make the player and the club aware that the Whites’ interest is genuine and they will then get to the discussion table.
In the meantime, Leeds can continue their pursuit of other strikers as there are a number of them currently on their radar.
They saw what happened when they put all eggs in one basket during their pursuit of Charles De Ketelaere and it cost them plenty of time.
Victor Orta needs to be smart in this last month of the window and must ensure that the Whites aren’t fleeced for the services of a new striker.
The entire continent is aware of their desperation to sign a striker and they would want to demand top dollar and get Leeds to overpay.
In other Leeds United news, a 29-year-old has snubbed interest from Europe to move to Elland Road with the move subject to a work permit.
