Source issues update on Leeds United links to Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel, Daniel Farke likes him
Daniel Farke is understood to be a fan of Bayern Munich keeper Alexander Nubel amid Leeds United transfer links this summer.
LUFC Fanzone have carried quotes from someone close to the German goalkeeper who claims that a move to Elland Road is not on the cards this summer.
The account that has covered a number of exclusive stories about Leeds, including one on Mateusz Klich that was confirmed by Andrea Radrizzani, state that he will be leaving this summer, but will not join Farke’s side.
They wrote on Twitter, “Alexander Nubel will not be joining Leeds United, despite strong reports in Germany yesterday suggesting that Leeds were strongly interested in the Bayern Munich goalkeeper.
“A source close to the player has told LUFCFANZONE:
‘Daniel Farke likes Alex, however, he will not move to Leeds. He will leave Bayern, however to another German club for next season’.”
Need him
Illan Meslier’s confidence was at an all-time low towards the end of last season and a move away from Elland Road could help him.
He could leave on loan for a French club where he he gets regular minutes and next season, he can prove whether or not he deserves to be the first choice for Leeds.
He has been commended a lot in the past, especially the way he played under Marcelo Bielsa, and he needs to get back that same level of confidence.

Nubel did seem to fit the bill perfectly for Leeds but there were always doubts if he would want to move to a Championship club.
The 26-year-old has been labelled as “Incredibly talented” by Klaus Thomforde, Germany’s U21 goalkeeper coach.
It remains to be seen if the Whites bring in a new goalkeeper this summer or if Farke ends up keeping the faith in Meslier for the upcoming season.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
