Source close to Javi Gracia shares work permit update ahead of Leeds United v Southampton

Javi Gracia is “unlikely” to be in the Leeds United dugout for their huge Premier League clash against Southampton, according to reliable source, LUFCFANZONE.

The 52-year-old has been unable to take training due to a work permit issue and is still waiting to see if he can take charge against the Saints.

LUFCFANZONE previously broke a story about Mateusz Klich which was confirmed by Andrea Radrizanni on Twitter (18 January). The reliable outlet has claimed the new head coach is still waiting and that it “seems unlikely” he will be granted a permit before Saturday’s fixture (25 February).

“According to a source close to Javi Gracia Leeds are still waiting for a permit,” they wrote (via Twitter, 23 February).

“‘In the UK these issues are very complicated and Javi is still waiting. But we trust this will be gained’. On that reply, it seems unlikely that Gracia will gain a permit for Saturday.”

Laughing stock

This is laughable. Surely work permit issues are dealt with as a priority before an appointment is made. The club now face another fixture with Michael Skubala in charge and, although he is capable, a new boss simply had to be in place for the visit of Ruben Selles’ side.

Leeds fans will be anxiously waiting to see if their new boss will be allowed to take the reins. He faces a daunting job at Elland Road, and it will be made harder the longer he is prevented from taking charge. Many have dubbed the game against Southampton as a must-win, and that is the case. However, a defeat could well be fatal for Leeds in their bid to avoid a return to the Championship.

Many teams towards the foot of the table are improving. A run of winning form is certainly required and it’s something which has alluded the Yorkshire side throughout the course of the season. Let’s hope this weekend’s clash at Elland Road is the start of a change of fortune.

In other Leeds United news, the club were snubbed by this former Premier League manager.
