Tony Cascarino has risked the anger of Leeds United fans everywhere by tipping Marcelo Bielsa for the job at Barcelona.

Bielsa was bizarrely tipped for the huge job earlier in the summer when a Sun story claimed Messi wanted him at the Nou Camp.

That was taken down the next day but other outlets like the Daily Mail picked up on the story.

Now, with Barcelona losing 8-2 in a shock result in the semi-finals of the Champions League on Friday, Cascarino has tried to get the story going again.

"It's an incredible job and they will have an incredible number of managers... Look, if you said to me tomorrow, who would I want to take, sorry Leeds fans I'd take Bielsa every day of the week," Cascarino said.

"He's a Barcelona type... the way they play, the emphasis on young players. Barca can attract the very best players in the world. And if they can do that I'd want a manager of his ilk.

"I've seen what he's done at Marseille, I've seen what he does at Leeds. I've seen the way he plays football. The fans would love Bielsa. To me, he would be the outstanding candidate right now.

"But that would be a rollercoaster ride."

Nice try Cass, but we can't think of a job that would suit Bielsa less.

He's not a man who's swayed by money but he does want a level of control that Barcelona, with Messi, just couldn't give him.

Leeds fans were concerned when the Barca story broke in the Sun.

In fact, MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson has said that he'll be worried until the new contract is signed.

The fact is, Bielsa is out of contract the moment. We still call him the Leeds manager but he's actually a free agent.

However, even if Barca came calling, we think Bielsa, a man of his word, would lead Leeds into the Premier League next season.

That might not make sense to fans of other clubs but that's just the way it is.
