Ben Parker believes that Rodrigo playing for Leeds United under-23s against West Brom on Monday will have massively helped the younger players.
The LUTV pundit was blown away by the Spaniard after he came off the bench in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal, claiming he changed the game at Elland Road.
Rodrigo hit the bar, and also sent a long-range effort agonisingly wide as he caused the Gunners consistent problems in West Yorkshire.
Parker claimed it will be a great experience for the under-23s to play with players such as Rodrigo, as they can consistently learn.
“These young players will be so excited to play with our record signing,” he said during live coverage of the game on YouTube.
“You’ve seen what sort of an impact he can have on the first-team when he came on yesterday against Arsenal, he almost changed the game in our favour.
“That effort when he tried to curl it into the top corner, smashing the woodwork – it’s going to be a good experience for the younger players.”
How did he fare?
Rodrigo tried his best to be that linking player just behind the striker, but some of the younger players were not on the same level throughout.
The Spaniard did cause major problems though and should have had an assist when he put the ball on a plate for Niall Huggins – who somehow hit the ball wide when it was easier to score.
He came off at half-time, and thankfully, it was without picking up a knock or any further setback against the Baggies.
Marcelo Bielsa insisted that his record signing would need more minutes before being back to his best, and hopefully, this stands him in a good place to start against Everton next week.
