‘Sloppy’ – Neil Warnock makes admission about Leeds after win v Huddersfield

Neil Warnock has admitted that Leeds United have been sloppy at times this season but has been blown away by their current “unstoppable” form in the Championship.

Leeds moved to the top of the table on Saturday by beating Huddersfield 2-0 at Elland Road while West Brom were held to a goalless draw by Swansea.

Luke Ayling continued his goalscoring streak with a superb volley in the first half before Patrick Bamford finally got himself on the scoresheet after the break.

Leeds have not conceded a goal in their last five games and Warnock says that although the clean sheet record is good, it’s also been something that Marcelo Bielsa has had to fix.

“I think that’s been their weakness at times with the clean sheets, they’ve been sloppy at times,” said Warnock on EFL on Quest on Saturday.

“The league is such now that they had a bad spell and all of a sudden they’ve come back and they’re cruising again with four or five wins on the trot.

“They look unstoppable.”

It’s great to see that Kiko Casilla’s suspension has not led to Leeds conceding more goals with Illan Meslier now keeping two clean sheets in two games.

However one of the major things about Leeds’ impressive defensive record this season is how few chances they actually let opposition sides have.

According to WhoScored, Meslier has only had to make four saves in his first two league games for the Whites, showing that he’s protected by a brilliant defence.
