Sky Sports reporter urges Leeds United to give new contracts to in-form duo at Elland Road
Tim Thornton believes it “makes sense” for Leeds United to offer new contracts to both Jack Harrison and Pascal Struijk this season.
Leeds have enjoyed a strong start to the Premier League season under Jesse Marsch, with many of the American’s new signings settling in well at Elland Road.
The Whites now have plenty of depth in their squad, but will have some work on their hands if they are to keep the squad together.

Harrison has been in fine form this season but was attracting attention from both Tottenham and Newcastle during the summer window. Meanwhile, Struijk hasn’t drummed up much transfer interest, but the Dutchman’s current contract has just two years remaining.
As a result, Thornton has urged Leeds to tie both Harrison and Struijk down to new contracts this season.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the Sky Sports reporter said: “With Pascal, there’s not been a lot of speculation about his future.
“But he’s very versatile, fills different positions, he’s developed well, he’s popular at the club, and he’s happy at Leeds. So, it makes sense for both players, for me, to try and tie them down.”

No-brainer
One thing Leeds have been good at in recent years is making good decisions off the field. The club have not held on to any player too long, and contract extensions have only been handed out to those worthy of them.
Harrison and Struijk are both definitely in that category – and there’s no doubt that they’re high up in Victor Orta’s list when it comes to contract offers.
Both are accustomed to the Leeds lifestyle and have served the club fantastically during their time at Elland Road. With both players still so young, it’s crucial that the club ensure they spend their peak years in Yorkshire.
Harrison in particular has been superb on the left for Leeds, and he’s done more than enough to deserve a financial reward – and hopefully one that fends off interest from Newcastle and Tottenham.
As for Struijk, he’s been ultra professional this season, slotting in at left-back and putting in some great displays despite it not being his favoured position. He’s proved to be very reliable and a huge part of the squad. Giving both him and Harrison new deals is an absolute no-brainer.
