Sky Sports pundit wants Leeds United official ‘held accountable’ for multi-million controversy
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson wants someone to be “held accountable” for the Jean-Kevin Augustin saga which took place at Leeds United.
The Daily Mail revealed on 10 April that Leeds were found to be in breach of Augustin’s contract by FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber. As a result, the club have been ordered to pay £24.5million to their former loanee.
Robinson has reacted to the news and believes one of the club’s hierarchy has to be held to account when it comes to the Frenchman.

“Somebody has to be held accountable for it. You look at the amount of money that goes into a deal like that,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“Leed aren’t the most affluent club in the Premier League, in fact, they’re in the bottom six for wages, budgets, transfer etc.
“When you go wasting that kind of money on a player who wasn’t fit enough, somebody has to be held accountable.”

Augustin currently plays his football in Switzerland for Basel and has scored five goals and registered one assist during the 2022/23 season.
The Frenchman was previously playing for Nante but only made eleven appearances for the Ligue 1 side. Leeds have appealed FIFA’s verdict on the £24.5million payment which is set to be paid.
In other Leeds United news, the 49ers’ £1billion dream is set to go up in smoke.
