Sky Sports pundit shares what three new Leeds arrivals must do to break into first-team

Leeds United have started their summer with a number of new arrivals at Elland Road as they prepare for the Premier League.

Joe Gelhardt, Charlie Allen and Cody Drameh have all followed Jack Harrison through the front door, as Victor Orta concentrates on the future.

Now that those options have committed their future to the Whites, Marcelo Bielsa will certainly want his first-team squad strengthening.

What will it take for those three youngsters to be in-and-around that first-team squad? Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has claimed they must be fearless.

“If you get these three lads in and around the first team, they have got to show respect to who is already there,” he wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.

“But they also have to go in relatively fearless and I think that’s good at keeping the chemistry and the dynamic of the changing room hungry and eager to succeed.”

It has already been reported that Drameh will be in the first-team set-up next season, despite not having broken through at Fulham previously.

For Allen and Gelhardt, the road may be a bit longer.

That doesn’t mean that they aren’t impressing though. Phil Hay has claimed that the 16-year-old has impressed already with the under-18s and is set to join Gelhardt with the under-23s, a quick jump despite not being at the club a week yet.

If those two can continue at that level and keep impressing, Bielsa has proved countless times that they will get a chance with the first-team – although we expect Gelhardt to get that shot first.

The former Wigan talent has been training with the senior squad already, and now is his time to catch the eye of El Loco.
