Sky Sports pundit rages at ‘poor’ Junior Firpo after what he did in Leeds United win v Nottingham Forest

Paul Robinson was left fuming at Junior Firpo after the Leeds United left-back produced a “poor” cross during the Whites’ 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

Goals from Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterrra saw Javi Gracia’s side come from behind to seal a vital three points and move out of the relegation zone on Tuesday evening (4 April).

However, Robinson was less than impressed with the 26-year-old after he failed to pick out Bamford whilst in a promising position in the second half.

“That just highlights his lack of quality in the final third,” said the Sky Sports pundit (Premier League World Feed coverage, 20:56, 4 April)

“He looks up and sees Patrick Bamford but his execution was so poor.”

Huge

That was a huge three points for Gracia’s men and the perfect start to what could be a huge week for Leeds. Furthermore, the Whites showed excellent character to come from behind and produce what was a dominant performance at Elland Road.

All eyes will now be on the Whites’ next fixture against Crystal Palace on Sunday (8 April). It’s an excellent chance for the Yorkshire side finally put some daylight between themselves and the bottom three. There were a number of standout performances against the East Midlanders, with Harrison once again producing a fine display.

Apart from his misplaced cross in the second period, Firpo was largely impressive for the Whites. Defensively he looks relatively strong and produced a dependable performance.

Let’s hope this win is the start of a positive run of form. Due to the close-knit nature of the league table, one or two wins could see the pressure ease significantly.
