Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones has backed Leicester City to convincingly beat Leeds United this weekend despite the Foxes having players missing.
The Whites travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday looking to record back to back Premier League victories following Tuesday’s win over Newcastle United.
While doing his weekly predictions for Sky Sports, Jones believes there is still something missing from Leeds’ game and backed Brendan Rodgers’ side to win 3-1.
He said, “Despite edging past Newcastle, there still seems to be something missing from Leeds compared to their early-season attacking shapes that blew away most defences.
“If Leicester were at full-strength this would be a lump-on job for a home win. The injuries to Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi put me off Leicester slightly.
“Leeds also have taken just one point from six Premier League games against the current top six this season as their exposed defence has been punished by quality forwards. James Maddison should revel in the space afforded.”
Maddison has been in brilliant form for the Foxes this season as Rodgers’ side find themselves well in the hunt for the Premier League title.
The 24-year-old has six goals and four assists in 18 Premier League appearances this season as when other players haven’t stepped up, Maddison has filled in.
The midfielder really has taken his game to another level this season and after picking up an assist at Elland Road earlier in the campaign he will be looking to have a similar impact at the King Power.
Marcelo Bielsa will be looking to avoid a repeat of the result at Elland Road though his players will have to improve on the performance they produced against Newcastle.
We just about got home with three points in that one but a better side will punish the mistakes our makeshift backline has been making.
In other Leeds United news, some Whites fans are buzzing after Kalvin Phillips posted a video to social media.
