Sky Sports pundit names Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto in Premier League Team of the Week

Leroy Rosenior has waxed lyrical over Willy Gnonto for coming off the bench and helping Leeds United register a 4-3 win against Bournemouth.

The Whites were down a goal at the break and things got worse at the start of the second half, but they found themselves chasing a 3-1 deficit.

However, the youngsters delivered for the Whites with Gnonto playing a crucial assist for Crysenscio Summerville’s winning goal.

Speaking on Premier League Fan Zone, Rosenior, a Sky Sports pundit said (08/11, 12:54), “I think Summerville was terrific but I’ve gone for Gnonto here. He came on in the second half and turned the game around. Outstanding performance and he’s going to have an outstanding future.”

Right call?

It depends on what Rosenior is looking for from players because Summerville clearly had more of an impact on the game.

He won a penalty in the first minute, appeared to be a constant threat throughout the game and scored the winning goal to grab all the headlines.

Sure, Gnonto helped impact the result a great deal and the fact that he was a relatively unknown commodity worked in Leeds’ favour.

His direct running coupled with his ball control made it hard for the Bournemouth players to play against him and he’s made a very good case for regular playing minutes.

We will be really surprised if March does not name in the starting eleven against Wolves in the Carabao Cup as it’s the perfect game for him to showcase his skills.

However, for the weekend clash, we think Summerville deserved an inclusion but it’s good to see the Leeds youngsters living up to the hype.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could now be looking to sign an award-winning Ligue 1 ace to bring to Elland Road in January.
