Sky Sports pundit in awe of ‘unbelievable’ Sam Allardyce amid Leeds United development

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson believes Sam Allardyce is the perfect appointment for Leeds United with Javi Gracia set to depart Elland Road

BBC Sport report (2 May) that the Spaniard is set to be sacked, with the former West Brom and England boss in line to replace him.

Robinson has since reacted to the news and believes Allardyce should have been considered sooner for the job in West Yorkshire.

“Absolutely, I’d give it to him straight away. He should have had it last time when Javi Gracia got given the job,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“You don’t know who is making decisions at the top end of the club. Sam maybe comes with a bit of reputation over his style of football and the way that he is, but he’s a fantastic man manager and a great leader and organiser.

“He’s got a well-proven and unbelievable CV at the top end of English football and he’s a former England manager. I think he should’ve even been considered before Jesse Marsch got the job.

Leeds United

“He’s got an unbelievable CV. He’s very effective, a great man manager and organiser and Leeds wouldn’t have conceded this amount of goals if he was in charge.

“He’s managed at the top level and he would be the perfect candidate to bring them back up. Players will want to play for him.

“It won’t just be long ball, it will be strategic, they will play a certain way. Leeds have got some quality players and he will get the best out of them. Without a doubt, they shouldn’t be looking at anyone else.”

It promises to be a daunting task for whoever gets the job, with a daunting trip to Manchester City on the agenda for the Whites.
