Sky Sports pundit drops Crysencio Summerville exit view at Leeds United after Aston Villa transfer update by Fabrizio Romano
David Prutton has urged Leeds United to “fight tooth and nail” to keep Crysencio Summerville at Elland Road this month after a recent exit update.
The Sky Sports pundit, writing in his Yorkshire Evening Post column (4 January) believes the club must keep “half an eye” on any new developments on the young Dutchman’s future with several clubs interested in his services.
Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano shared on his Twitter account (25 December) that clubs including Premier League outfit Aston Villa keep tracking him but the Whites have no intention of letting him go as he’s a key player at Elland Road.
And Prutton believes, should Summerville be sold, they’ve got to ensure the price is right but must be keeping him around above all.
He wrote: “There will also be an element of interest in Leeds’ players given attack-wise what we have seen from them, in particular Crysencio Summerville given the interest in him prior to anything really happening this season. If you are Leeds, then you keep half an eye on that and if he goes then you get the right price for him but you fight tooth and nail to keep him.”
Silly to sell
Indeed Leeds United must do all they can to keep Summerville at Elland Road given he’s arguably Daniel Farke’s most influential protagonist this season and is absolutely crucial to their Premier League ambitions.
How do you replace a player who’s contributed 18 goals (12 goals and six assists) to your league campaign already in the January window? You simply don’t because it is nearly impossible.

The Dutchman is a one-of-a-kind winger, possessing the qualities to open up defences at will because of his superb skills, speed, unpredictability but most of all his decisiveness and cutting edge in the final third.
To win promotion to the Premier League, you need an abundance of those talents in your weaponry and Summerville, along with Georginio Rutter can certainly boast about how much of an influence they’re having at Elland Road.
If clubs want to buy Summerville, Leeds United must slap a whopping price tag on his shoulders to keep interested parties out but there will come a time very soon when the Whites will have to prepare for the inevitable.
But it’s certainly not this month, that much is clear.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are targeting a Premier League ace as they prepare for a transfer blitz in January.
