Sky Sports pundit convinced Premier League clubs will want 'absolutely electric' Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville after what he did v Huddersfield
Matt Murray predicted Premier League teams will be trying to sign Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window after a barnstorming performance for Leeds United v Huddersfield Town.
The Dutch winger scored twice and assisted two more for Daniel James in the first half alone as Leeds hammered their West Yorkshire rivals 4-1 at Elland Road.
Former Wolves goalkeeper Murray, covering the game for Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, waxed lyrical about Summerville.
After the first goal, he said: “They’re absolutely clinical. It’s a counter-attack, Huddersfield had a throw-in deep in the Leeds half. A ball over the top, Summerville picks it up, he has been absolutely electric this afternoon, he drives at the Huddersfield defence, they back up, he feeds James and then he just uses the defender at the edge of the box to guide into the corner past Nicholls.”
He later added following the fourth: “Rutter down the left-hand side, absolutely brilliant, drives in, gets his head up, plays the ball to Summerville, he twists, he turns, he’s got players around him, no mistake again, drives the ball into the back of the net. I heard all that chat about Neto, leave him at Wolves, but I’m sure there might be some Premier League clubs looking at Summerville because he’s been absolutely brilliant.”
Hands off
There was big talk of a summer exit for Summerville during the last transfer window but he remained at Elland Road even as a number of key players around him bolted for the exit door in an absolutely manic period for Leeds.
However, the rumblings that Premier League clubs are going to look to prise Summerville away during the January transfer window still remain and it is easy to see why with Summerville in such sensational form for Daniel Farke’s side.
Leeds have a job to do, though. After a poor campaign last term, they are desperate to bounce immediately back into the Premier League and Summerville is absolutely crucial to their hopes of doing so.
He absolutely battered Huddersfield, but they will not be the only club to feel the full brunt of Summerville’s talent this season. It is a simple equation from Leeds for any suitors that may arrive – hands off!
