Sky Sports News share live Leeds United update amid Friday Elland Road development
Sky Sports News have shared a live Leeds United update after the club was forced to close some of its facilities due to a security threat.
Club offices, the ticket office, foundation offices, and the Elland Road club shop have all been closed after a report was received on Thursday evening (23 March).
Sky Sports Hayley McQueen has since revealed they have been in contact with West Yorkshire police to gain further insight into the incident.
“We have spoken to West Yorkshire police who have said police were called to Elland Road following reports of a security threat to the premises,” said McQueen (Sky Sports News, 24 March).
“Investigations are currently ongoing to establish the credibility of that threat. The report was received at 21:49 last night [23 March].”

The threat must have had some substance for the club’s facilities to have been shut down. The board and the police will be desperate for the issue to be resolved ahead of a crucial period for the Whites. Football is the be-all and end-all for a lot of people, but safety has to be of paramount importance.
Let’s hope the issue is resolved quickly and not as serious as initial reports suggest. The international break is now in full swing and the Premier League campaign will quickly be back at the forefront of everybody’s attention. A daunting trip to Arsenal is up next for Javi Gracia’s side.
They aren’t expected to beat the league leaders, which means the trip to The Emirates is a bit of a free hit. The home games against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are make or break for the Whites. They simply have to pick up six points. Ensuring they utilise their fixtures at Elland Road is non-negotiable.
