Sky Sports broadcaster claims Leeds in talks with three clubs over new striker deal
Sky Sports commentator Gary Weaver has claimed that Leeds United are in talks with three clubs over bringing in a new striker.
He also said that Leeds started negotiations with Southampton for Che Adams as far back as October.
Leeds are on the hunt for a striker who can provide the goals the push for promotion so desperately needs.
Leeds lost Eddie Nketiah in January and after losing to QPR on Saturday afternoon, have failed to win in the last seven Championship games.
Patrick Bamford, the only recognised striker at the club, missed a penalty in the game against QPR.
Commentating on the game at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday afternoon (Sky Sports, Sat, 12.30pm), Weaver delivered an update on the striker hunt.

“Leeds started negotiations with Southampton over Che Adams back in October when they thought Arsenal might recall Nketiah,” Weaver said.
“They thought it would get done but it hasn’t proved easy and they’re not prepared to risk the same thing that happened with Dan James last January.
“They’re in talks with three other clubs if the Adams deal doesn’t get done, but they’re still confident they can get him.”
Leeds have got a huge week in front of them and there won’t be any mistaking the importance of finding the right man.
It could be the difference between automatic promotion and the play-offs, with the current squad stretched as thin as it can be and results spiralling.
A new striker is the most important addition but with Kalvin Phillips banned for three games after getting sent off on Saturday afternoon and Adam Forshaw no nearer a return, a new midfielder is needed too.
It’s been a frustrating window so far for Leeds fans and the next week is going to be torturous.
Weaver claims the club is in talks with three clubs. Hopefully one of these avenues leads to a striker who can score the goals we desperately need.
