Leeds United are hot on the heels of FC Luzern midfielder Ardon Jashari ahead of a potential January transfer, according to Sky Sports in Germany.
The reliable outlet has reported that various offers are already on the table with Celtic, Napoli, Frankfurt and RB Leipzig all in the race for the Swiss club captain.
It is shared that a fee between €6-7million [£6.2million] would be enough to get a deal over the line, despite three more years being on his current contract.
Unfortunately for Leeds, they are not the hottest contenders right now.
Leipzig and Frankfurt appear to be at the top of the race, with the information from German Sky that the Bundesliga duo are going in to get a deal secured.
At only 20 years old, Jashari captains his club and featured for Switzerland in the World Cup over in Qatar, not a bad record to start your career before making his first big move.
No messing around.
Victor Orta has started his work early, with the window not yet opening for another couple of days.
Jashari would be an interesting purchase and potentially similar to Wilfried Gnonto, given he has not yet left Switzerland, but still has senior international experience.
A relative unknown to many, the 20-year-old certainly has the talent given how he is trusted to captain his club and looking at the clubs linked with him, this is a big race.
If Leeds can get a deal over the line, it may show that Mateusz Klich is certainly destined for the MLS and DC United, with an offer on the table for our Polish hero to move on.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on, and with numerous offers already on the table, it would be a surprise if Leeds and Orta weren’t one of those trying to barge their way in.
A left-back and a striker was demanded for January, but we could be set for much, much more.
