Sky Sports journalist shares update on Everton transfer pursuit of Leeds ace Rodrigo
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has shared the latest on Everton’s transfer pursuit of Leeds United attacker Rodrigo this summer.
He claims that a move for the Spaniard is not completely dead but Saudi Arabian links make things difficult for the Toffees.
The Spaniard is one among many Whites players linked with the exit door at Elland Road post the club’s relegation.
Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “I’d be less confident now on that one, interest from the Middle East. I wouldn’t say that but big money coming from the Middle East.”
Leeds need money
The Whites may receive parachute payments but a certain clause in a lot of players’ contracts will see them being allowed to leave this summer on loan.
That means that they will not be able to receive any transfer fee for them even if there was to be a market for them as signing players on loan is viewed as easier by clubs.
Rodrigo is one player who looks like he’ll be leaving permanently but there’s a good chance that he can fetch a decent fee.

It remains to be seen how much clubs in Saudi will be willing to offer for a player who’s on the wrong side of 30, however.
The Spaniard has proven that he can keep up his fitness and immaculate goal-scoring record so it’s a good bet and understandable why the Toffees want him.
They cannot spend as much as clubs in the Middle East so Leeds must not give in to their demands unless interest cools from elsewhere.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
