Sky Sports journalist shares update on Everton pursuit of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto
Alan Myers claims that Everton being in advanced talks with El Bilal Toure does not mean they’ve abandoned their pursuit of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto.
The Sky Sports journalist revealed that the Toffees were prioritising a move for the Almeria striker which led to some believing it could see them cool an interest in the Italian.
However, that does not seem to be the case for the Whites who are fighting to keep the 19-year-old at Elland Road.
Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “Not necessarily.”
Keep him
The Whites must do everything in their power to keep Gnonto as he can absolutely kill it in the Championship next season.
He wasn’t utilised nearly as much as he should’ve and Daniel Farke is not naive enough to make the same mistake.
With Everton signing Arnaut Danjuma and potentially Bilal Toure, Gnonto might not be the first choice there.

If Farke can promise to make him a regular starter and he can have a gentleman’s agreement with the club that he can leave next summer if they do not get promoted, then he would not mind staying for another season.
Gnonto is not even 20 yet and is some years away from his weak so he could take the experience of the Championship as a learning episode that will only make him better in the seasons to come.
