Sky Sports journalist posts exciting transfer update as Leeds set to strike again

Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Michael Cuisance has passed his medical with Leeds United and signed a permanent contract until 2025.

Romano, who has been providing regular updates on the Cuisance saga, also claimed that the player turned down a move to another Premier League club.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth suggested that club might have been Newcastle.

If the deal is confirmed – and there’s been no official word yet –  Cuisance could be eligible to play for Leeds against Man City in the huge Premier League clash on Saturday.

Where will Cuisance play?

Cuisance isn’t coming to warm the bench at Leeds.

He left Bayern because he wasn’t getting game-time and he’s not going to swap a Bayern bench for a Leeds one.

He might have to be patient. It’s very doubtful that he goes straight into the side to play Man City, even with Pablo Hernandez out injured.

However, that’s the primary position we think Cuisance will be played at.

Hernandez has been struggling to maintain fitness at Leeds. He was used sparingly, if brilliantly, in the run-in last season and he’s been ruled out of key games already this season.

The arrival of Cuisance means that Hernandez could well be used as an impact player, with Bielsa managing his game time carefully.

It worked last season and it could work again in the Premier League.

Cuisance can also prove cover for Mateusz Klich and even Kalvin Phillips. We think he’s set to play a major role this season.

This is exciting news from Romano. Now, we just need the official confirmation.
