Sky Sports journalist issues transfer update on Leeds United attacker Brenden Aaronson

Brenden Aaronson appears to be the latest Leeds United player to seal his Elland Road exit this summer amid Union Berlin links.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, there will be an option to buy with the United States international moving on a season-long loan.

Robin Koch and Diego Llorente have both sealed their exit and will now be followed by the 22-year-old.

Via Twitter, Plettenberg wrote, “Aaronson deal, final stages now! Union Berlin will finalize the transfer in the next days. One year loan without an option to buy.”

Move on

Aaronson’s arguably been one of the worst signings of the Jesse Marsch era and we’re surprised that a Bundesliga club wants to sign him.

He struggled at Elland Road under multiple managers and failed to find his ideal role in the team.

The option to buy will give Union a way out as if they’re not happy with his performance they’ll just send him back to Leeds and let the Whites deal with him.

It remains to be seen how much the option will be and whether or not the Whites will be getting a loan fee for the 22-year-old.

There was plenty of excitement when he joined as he was a player who was wanted by Marcelo Bielsa as well and Marsch rated him too.

However, he failed to live up to the billing and not too many Leeds fans will mind seeing the back of him this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
