Sky Sports in Daniel James blunder ahead of Leeds United showdown v Nottingham Forest

Sky Sports have billed Nottingham Forest versus Leeds United as “Johnson v James”, despite Daniel James being out on loan at Fulham.

James, 25, joined Fulham on a season-long loan deal on 1 September and has since played 12 times in the Premier League for the London club.

But ahead of Leeds’ clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday (5 February), Sky Sports have tried to sell the game based on it being a clash between two Welshman in Forest’s Brennan Johnson and Leeds’ – or Fulham’s – James.

After clicking on the promo on Sky’s Now TV app, it adds a bit more.

Wow

Even if James was at Leeds, what an underwhelming way to bill a Premier League match.

James has been woeful for Leeds and he’s been very poor at Fulham too.

Johnson has started to do okay at Nottingham Forest but it’s hardly a clash of the titans between the two – if they were to play against each other.

They did play against one another back in September when James played 20 minutes of Fulham’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Johnson played 90 minutes of that game – which was aired live on Sky Sports.

It’s a major blunder by the broadcaster, who clearly has someone who doesn’t have a clue about football in control of this promo.

James probably doesn’t have too much of a future at Leeds when his loan spell at Fulham expires.

He was poor for us last season and has struggled massively at Craven Cottage despite how much money was paid for him by the Whites.

He’s one of Marcelo Bielsa’s few mistakes at Elland Road.
