Sky Sports host predicts Leeds United scoreline v West Brom in Championship
Sky Sports host David Prutton has predicted the result of Leeds United against West Brom in the Championship.
Leeds will travel to the Hawthorns on Saturday [August 17] for the second matchday of the 2024/25 campaign.
Prutton, co-host of the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast offered his prediction on Friday 16 August [9m 29s] in the clash between the promotion rivals.
He said: “It feels like another 2-2 – it does, doesn’t it?”
Leeds United face a must-win clash against West Brom
Daniel Farke is under early pressure at Leeds after an underwhelming start to the new season and will need to leave the Hawthorns with three points this weekend.
The Whites collapsed to a disappointing 3-3 draw against Portsmouth on the opening day before a shock 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the Carabao Cup.
Now, a must-win match against West Brom awaits the side, both reached the Championship play-offs last season and fell victim to Southampton who will play in the Premier League this season.
Leeds will be without another key player for the match, Georginio Rutter is expected to follow Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville out of Elland Road after Brighton & Hove Albion activated his £40m release clause [BBC Sport].
Farke will have a war chest to attack the final weeks of the transfer window but his attention must solely be focused on improving his side’s fortunes on the pitch starting with West Brom, who the Whites failed to beat last season and suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Hawthorns.
We are still early into the new season but Farke needs to get his first three points to calm the growing anxiety surrounding Elland Road.
It is a tough ask for Leeds, but not impossible, as one can never know what to expect in the Championship.
