Sky Sports host David Prutton predicts result of Leeds United showdown v Bristol City
Sky Sports host David Prutton has made his prediction ahead of Leeds United’s Championship clash with Bristol City on Friday night.
The Whites head to Ashton Gate on the back of a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup with Plymouth, but know a victory here could send them up to second place in the table at least for 24 hours.
And Prutton, making his predictions for Sky Sports (1 February) expects Daniel Farke’s side to use that as motivation to pick up a vital three points and avoid any slip-up against a Bristol City side in mixed form.
“It is hard to know what to really make of Liam Manning’s Bristol City so far,” he said.
“The FA Cup results aside, the league form has been mixed. But it looks like he is being given scope to build, and next season could be when they really push on.
“Leeds don’t have that kind of time. A win on Friday night takes them into second, at least temporarily. They are in brilliant form and all they can do is keep on winning and hope the others slip up. It should be another three points at Ashton Gate. 2-1 Leeds.”
Must win
The form of the team away from Elland Road has been nothing short of poor for the most part this season and now that the squad is confirmed for the rest of the season, the boss has no excuses.
The team has been strong enough to secure several excellent results at home, so there is no reason for the dip in form on the road and it has to be the manager’s priority to improve that in the short-term.

That has to start immediately and if the team can’t be motivated by the fact a victory against a struggling team can move them into the automatic promotion places then nothing will.
The injury situation ahead of the game is good despite a few players missing and the team should still have more than enough about it to get a win and prove Prutton right.
A clean sheet would be better, but three points is the most important thing and no Whites fan would begrudge a 2-1 win so hopefully the Sky Sports host is right.
