Sky Sports detail Leeds ‘concern’ ahead of January transfer window

Leeds United may dip into the January transfer market to secure the services of a new midfielder, according to Sky Sports

The Whites have had several injuries in the midfield this season and Marcelo Bielsa may want to sign some cover so he isn’t faced with another injury crisis.

Leeds have also struggled with injuries in the defence this season but Sky Sports make no mention of Bielsa searching for defensive reinforcements.

Sky Sports claim that Leeds are unlikely to make investments similar to the moves that were made in the summer as the club picked up most of their intended targets.

They also report that the midfield area ‘remains a concern’ for Bielsa and that the Argentine’s hand may be forced in January.

With Pablo Hernandez and Jamie Shackleton recently returning from injury the midfield may not seem like a problem area for Leeds but more injuries could have a major effect on the squad.

The games continue to come thick and fast over the next few weeks and there is every chance that more players will pick up knocks with Bielsa not keen on rotating his side.

This could force the club’s hand in January but bringing a new player to Leeds midway through the season isn’t ideal.

Players need time to get used to Bielsa’s methods and get fit enough to work effectively in this Whites side.

If any players arrive at Elland Road in the next few weeks one thing is for sure, they will be someone who has been scouted extensively and a panic buy is extremely unlikely.

Leeds are in little danger of a relegation fight at the moment and the squad is doing well in the Premier League.

At this point, any new players would surely be a bonus.
