Simon Jordan urges Arne Slot to join Leeds United as he makes Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag comparison
Simon Jordan has urged Arne Slot to follow in the footsteps of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and move to the Premier League amid Leeds United interest.
The talkSPORT host believes that Leeds have the potential to become a huge club in England and also have the financial backing of the San Francisco 49ers.
He also thinks that their being in the Championship should not deter Slot from leaving Feyenoord for Elland Road.
He said on talkSPORT,
“There’s no doubt that the Dutch league is a pathway to the Premier League. Ten Hag was pulling up trees when he decided to go to Man United.
“Leeds United have the potential to be a huge football club.
“Economically managing in the Premier League and Leeds even if they got relegated will be the better option because they’ll pay them much more money. If he gets it right at Leeds, he has a powerhouse of a side that’s potentially about to be taken over by American owners that are going to push on to the next level.
Jim White responded in disagreement, “Leeds in the Championship is a better option than Feyenoord winning the title in Holland? They’ll be in the Champions League.”
“Leeds will give him a better option for his personal finances and give him a very good chance to get promoted back to the Premier League.”
Bit extreme
It’s unfathomable why a manager would leave a side potentially in the Champions League for one in the Championship.
If Leeds are in the Premier League and are guaranteeing to back the manager to get to the top half and eventually Europe, then it’s a move worth making.

It was easy to convince Jesse Marsch to join because there were no big clubs in for him and he was also out of a job.
Slot, on the other hand, has the potential of winning the treble there and given Ajax’s dominance, it will go down as a historic season if they achieve that.
He may have his head turned by Leeds, but it’s not as simplistic as Jordan is saying and there’s going to be a lot of convincing to do.
Hopefully, they can convince Slot, a manager who won the Rinus Michels Award last season for being the best manager in the Eredivisie.
