Simon Jordan shares Premier League survival verdict on Leeds United already
Simon Jordan has already pictured Leeds United in the Premier League next season after their late win over Sunderland on Monday.
The Whites have been in exceptional form in the Championship this season and have shown no signs of slowing down despite the odd hiccup.
And, after their 2-1 win against Sunderland at Elland Road, the stars may finally be aligning for the West Yorkshire outfit to earn themselves automatic promotion.
Speaking about Leeds’ chances in the top flight next season, Jordan shared his thoughts on whether Daniel Farke’s men have enough quality to stick around.
Daniel Farke has some strengthening to do at Elland Road
While the Whites’ squad may well be one of the strongest in the second tier, that doesn’t mean their form will instantly transfer over to the top flight.
Of course, there has been some success in recent years with promoted teams such as Brentford, Fulham and Nottingham Forest but the 2024/25 season has shown that there’s still a hefty gulf in quality between the Championship and the Premier League.
The three teams that earned promotion last season are all in the relegation zone, and with Wolves above them picking up form, they are likely set for an immediate return.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (18 February, 10:15am), Jordan shared his thoughts on Leeds’ chances of Premier League survival if they get promoted this season.
“Leeds have built themselves back into a position to get back into the Premier League, it, of course, depends on what they’re going to do and how they’re going to spend money and what they’ve currently got and what they lose,” he said.
“If they get promoted, which I think they will, I think Leeds will have a good opportunity of staying in the Premier League.”

Leeds United will have to add some talent to their ranks
A fair chunk of Leeds’ squad are classed as the best in their positions in the second tier, especially on recent form.
Dan James is among those within the Whites’ squad who would easily get into any Championship side, as one example.
Others such as Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell would both also get into just about any team in the league despite being rotated at Elland Road.
However, due to the standard of players in the top flight, plenty of extra additions will have to be brought in during the summer window for Leeds to even be remotely competitive.
They’re likely to need a new striker, left back and a midfielder at the very least, some players are on the borderline of being a Premier League starter such as Joe Rodon but it still wouldn’t harm anything to bring a few new faces to Elland Road.
If Farke’s men do earn Premier League promotion, to survive, Leeds are likely going to have to dig deep into the pockets to fund a rebuild.
